Behind the name…
When moving to a new home, we carefully fill our homes with decorative items that reflect our personal style. We do this to achieve a space that we find attractive and comfortable. Remarkably, the bowerbird does the same. Vigilantly selecting (often blue) objects; sticks, pebbles, flowers, berries, bottle caps, glass, and feathers to create a remarkable bower for itself. The bowerbird scopes out the perfect site for construction with beautiful sunlight. Once the structure is complete the tiny bird begins to decorate. Even “painting” the walls with paint made by chewing berries. This “decorator bird” is the inspiration behind bowerbirds inc.
